Serving & Going

"So, in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the law and the prophets."  Matthew 7:12

We Worship, We Grow, We Serve. We believe all of these prepare us 'To Go' - to Reach out in Love Sharing God's Message of Hope - to our neighbours around our world and our neighbours right next door.

At Mount Zion we believe that being a missional church is not a program. It has been, and continues to be, a vehicle that allows us to point ourselves towards a much deeper issue: how we can learn to live our everyday lives as the extended family of God on a mission.

In Christianity Today International, Mike Breen, pastor at Community Church of Joy near Phoenix, Arizona, believes the missional church is something very old, very fundamental, and very much at the core of what it means to be church. “The missional church is not just rooted in the New Testament church of Acts, but in the mission of Jesus himself. As a missional church we live out the church’s three-dimensional calling: to be upwardly focused on God in worship; to be inwardly focused on community among believers that is demonstrated in relationships of love and compassion; and to be outwardly focused on a world that does not yet know God.
